Howard Ronald Readinger, 71, of Violet Hill passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019.

He was born on June 15, 1948 in Sellersville, Pennsylvania to Howard F. Readinger and Lea Mary (Watkins) Readinger.

Howard was a United States Marine Corps veteran and served multiple tours during Vietnam with the 11th Engineer Battalion "B" Company. He was baptized on May 7, 1967 while he was deployed and carried a Bible with him which actually took a bullet and saved his life while in combat. He was a P.O.W. and a Purple Heart Recipient. He attended Violet Hill Assembly of God and was a member of the VFW Post 4687 in Melbourne. He worked for Walt Disney World Resorts in Florida as an entertainer and drove the train. He also served as a bodyguard for several celebrities including Red Skelton.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Ann Readinger; and infant son.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, October 4, 2019 at Violet Hill Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne with Bro. Leon Morehead officiating.
