Vonnie Mae Brewer passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019 in West Memphis, Arkansas at the age of 78. Vonnie was born May 29, 1941 in Black Oak, Arkansas to parents Henry and Annie Smith. Later in her teen years, while at the Tyronza Ballfield, she met a young man named James Brewer. Little did she know at the time but she would be able to spend the next 58 years as Mrs. Vonnie Mae Brewer before God called her home. Vonnie was a long-time member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in West Memphis.
She is survived by her husband, James Brewer Sr., son Jimmy Brewer (Karen) of Proctor, Arkansas, her daughter Paula Craft (Louis) of Marion, Arkansas. She leaves one sister, Frances Head of Cherry Valley, Arkansas. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren; Hayley Sanders (Tray) and Katie Craft, great-grandchildren; Ayden Sanders and Noah Sanders as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Vonnie is preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Lucille Taylor, Wanda Crutchfield, Louise Crawford, brothers; Hershel Smith, Daniel Smith and Douglas Smith and her great-granddaughter, Novalee Sanders. Visitation and Services will take place at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis on Friday, September 27, 2019. Visitation will begin at 1:00PM and Service at 2:00PM.
