John Hardin Bale, III

of Little Rock, AR

July 16, 1972 - September 13, 2019

J. Hardin Bale, III won his battle over cancer as he stepped into Eternity! His earthly journey complete, how glorious his reunion with his Savior, family & long-lost friends must have been!!! From his earthly birthday July 16, 1972 to his eternal birthday September 13, 2019, Hardin was a renaissance man who you would want to have with you on a desert island!

Those waiting to join him in his immediate family are: the love of his life and reason to live-his son, John Hardin Bale IV, Kristy Lawson Bale, Sharon & Johnny Bale, Brooke, Evans & Hunter Bale. Also, Beverly Scarborough Bale, April & Matthew Bale-Brock & Sawyer, Nicole & Thomas Bale, Iva & Richard Lawson, Tammy, Ty, Bryce, Ryan, Tricia and Kyle Ebsen and Penny, Allen & Chris Thomason.

His friends described him best: ''The fact that he has fought thru 9 years of horrific pain in cancer, just to have one more day with John Hardin, has been my example, in the truest sense, of the love a dad should have for his son. There are no words I can use to express what our sadness will be for the physical loss of Hardin in our lives. My heart hurts at the thought of not having him here on this earth because he brought the best out of others whether in his Catholic High days, to the University of Arkansas at Monticello to directing car dealerships in Clarksville or Little Rock or the many hunting and fishing adventures, roping's (I think he finished 8th in nation) or riding in his airboat across the river.

Saying that he is my hero is the absolute truth. I love that he delights in his son. His courageous nine-year battle against the dreaded ''C'' word alone makes him a hero by anyone's standard. I love that he wants to spend time with John Hardin and that he has shared his passion for the outdoors, of fishing, hunting, and animals. I love that twinkle in his eye and that mischievous smile that appears when he is kidding and joking with you. I love watching his face when he listens to someone talking because I think he is ''reading between the lines'' and is a great judge of character. I love that he has always been true to himself, ''His own person'', not what he thought would please other people. I love that he is and always has been fiercely loyal to his friends. I love that he was like the Good Samaritan, always going out of his way when friends, and strangers alike, needed help. I once saw a tv show where a character said, ''You should not fear death. It is just another phase of life. You get to live in a new place at a different address.'' I hope my address will be very close to Hardin's & we will be Eternal neighbors!''

Gratitude & Appreciation to Dr. Brad Baltz, Dr. Graves Hearnsberger, Dr. Daniel Brown, Pulmonary Assc. especially Dr. Gail McCracken, Dr. Robin DeVan, the nurses, respiratory therapists, support staff and house-keeping staff of Chi St. Vincent's CCU & ICU.

A reunion of family & friends will be Thursday, September 19, 2019, at Wildwood Park, 20919 Denny Road, 4p.m. Dress code, according to Hardin, ''No suits and ties allowed! Blue jeans, boots and baseball caps acceptable!''

In lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a contribution in Hardin's name, please consider: Arkansas Children's Hospital Foundation, 1 Children's Way, Slot 661, Little Rock, Arkansas 72202 or giving@archildrens.org, Catholic High School Foundation, 6300 Fr. Tribou Street, Little Rock, AR 72205 or the Charity of your choice!

The world is a better place because of Hardin. I am grateful he is now at peace and free from pain. I know he has assumed his new role with grace and dignity...that of J. Hardin Bale IV's guardian angel...

Sharon, you and your family are in my prayers.

Peace.

Sharon and Johnny:

He made everyone he met smile! I remember the last time he got a tuxedo from me he said, "I just hate wearing these pants!"
LOL......but he did, because he said, "mom says I have to!" LOL
We both laughed because we both knew the truth in that!
My sincere sympathy for your great loss and my prayers always at your back. All my love.

Johnny and Sharon; Sylvia and I know your hearts are broken. We pray for you and family in this time of sorrow. We know your family has gone through nine years of struggle and pain. Johnny, this brought back to mind all the years when we started together. You in the truck dept and me as district manager shortly before you took over as GM. Your dad and uncle were always gentlemen to the highest and you followed their leadership.
I have always liked this passage in Isaiah - "They that wait on the Lord will renew their strength, they will run and not get weary and walk and not faint". Be strong.

With love and friendship always, Gordon and Sylvia Shaw

Johnny and SHARON, your commitment to Hardin every day of his life was truly amazing to me! Driving him around all night when he was an infant to being so close to him these last nine years. I cannot imagine your deep sense of loss and sadnesses
right now! I am thankful for your wonderful memories of Hardin! I am thankful for your faith in the One who formed his inward parts, and then quickly through away the mold! I loved the Obituary! So sorry that I could not be with you all at Wildwood Park! All my love to you both! JMAY

To all of the Bales,

My very deepest sympathy for the loss of Hardin from this life. I remember Hardin from when I worked for Dr. Jim Phelan and Hardin had braces. He was a delight! We visited every month and he was such a fun-loving, interesting kid then. Of all the patients I remember over the years I worked there, Hardin stood out and I am sure he will be missed by many. So very sad for the ones left here; but oh what a celebration there will be one day!

To get one friend in life like Hardin Bale is a gift from God. It's hitting the friendship lottery. I had the ultimate pleasure of getting to share an impossible dream with him and it came true right before our eyes. In fact, it went wildly beyond what we thought was possible. I'm not sure it ever would have happened without him and his fierce loyalty. I will always cherish every single memory and keep the dream alive in his and his family's honor.

I love this picture of Hardin. It is the Hardin I love and remember so well. My heart is truly broken for the loss of Hardin in our lives. He was always so very good to me as well as all of the Bale Family. I am blessed to have known and worked for him and his family . Thank you for making me part of your family. I love you all and grieve with you and for you.

My heart is broken with this news today- but I am so happy for Hardin that he is healed and pain free. These words are so very true. In the many hours at ACH with I spent with all of you and with Hardin for many weeks you all became very dear to me. I always called Hardin "Macgyver" because he was always coming up with some way to improve all the gadgets and cords of the NICU. I remember the day he called me to tell me that he was sick and I asked him what was wrong and his response was "Nothing a little chemo won't fix". He was so stubborn and determined which made him a great fighter. I am praying for all of you- Johnny and Sharon, Kristy and John Hardin and Hunter, Brooke and Evans.

God was kind to us to share Hardin as long as he did.

Sharon, Johnny, Hunter and family. I think of all of you so often and the many great times we all spent at Prairie Wings with all the kids. I am so very sorry for your loss. Hardin's life has touched many others and his absence will be truly felt by many. My heartfelt sympathy to all of your family and to his precious little boy who will miss his Daddy so much.
