Donna Kay Brown

of Marion, AR

September 12, 1950 - September 11, 2019

Donna Kay Brown died Wednesday, September 11, 2019 one day shy of her 69th birthday. She was born in Elaine, AR on September 12, 1950 to Melvin and Beatrice Morgan. Her youth and young adult years were spent in the Arkansas towns of Elaine, Wheatley and Brinkley.

She loved Trinity in the Fields Anglican Church, Marion, AR and her church family, especially the monthly women's club dinners that she and her daughter were active in. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Arkansas Razorbacks. An accomplished piano player, she taught piano lessons out of her home while she raised her two children. When her children were older, Donna worked at the Marion School District for 25 years until her retirement in 2014. She enjoyed her supper club group and trying new restaurants in Memphis, as well as Sunday suppers with her family. She delighted in building a hummingbird garden in her yard that resulted in a multitude of winged visitors.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Ronny Brown and her father and mother, Melvin and Beatrice Morgan.

She is survived by her beloved son Christopher Todd Brown (Brooks) and cherished daughter Cheryl Brown Roberson, grandsons Hudson Brown, Lance Roberson, and Holden Brown who brought so much joy to her life. She leaves her dear sister Gilberte Morgan Clay and her brother in law Phil Clay and their children Brad Clay and Kim Rider and their families.. She will be missed by a host of family, friends and neighbors.

Services will be held at Trinity in the Fields Anglican Church with visitation beginning Saturday, September 14 at 1:00pm with service following at 2:00pm . A reception will follow the service at The Cedars, adjacent to Trinity in the Fields Anglican Church, for all to celebrate Donna's life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Donna's memory to Trinity in the Fields Anglican Church Marion, AR or The American Lung Association.
