David Curtis, 71, of Lake City, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Regional One in Memphis. He was born November 22, 1947 to Fletcher Loren and Dosha Mae Curtis in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.
Mr. Curtis was retired from AR Army Air National Guard and was a helicopter mechanic for Hospital Wing. He was also a member and Deacon of the Bethabara Baptist Church. David enjoyed a very fulfilling life, fishing, restoring old motorcycles, flying and helicopter maintenance, but most of all he enjoyed serving and honoring his Lord.
Preceding him in death are his parents; God Grandson, Little Pal, Slade Gilley.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years, Betty Jo Curtis; son, David Brad (Shea) Curtis; brother, Randell (Carol) Curtis; sister, Naomi (Tom) Ware; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at Roller-Farmers Union chapel Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 2:00pm, with Donald Strait officiating. Committal will follow at Lower Cane Island Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Terry Spikes, Rick Brewer, Darrin Hawkins, Toby Rand, Dr. Shane Lyerly and Kenny York. Honorary bearers are Hospital Wing employees.
Visitation precedes the service at the funeral home from 12:30pm until 2:00pm.
