Barbara Jean (Hood) Atkins, 84, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2019 at her home. Barbara was born on March 24, 1935 in Blytheville, Arkansas to the late Aubry and Vera Mae (Kennard) Hood. Barbara attended the Nazarene church and was a homemaker. She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

Barbara is survived by one son, James Atkins; three daughters, Naomi Ruth Anderson, June Smet, and Virginia Wright; one brother, Charles Hood; sisters, Annette Van Doren, Mary Helen Young, and Margaret Hood; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, along with many extended family and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Aubry and Vera Mae (Kennard) Hood; husband, James Virgil Atkins; and two sisters, Sarah Owens and Naomi Mitchell; two great-granddaughters, Brooklyn Wright and Audrey Rushly.

Visitation is Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 12:00 PM with Brother Jim Chandler officiating. Interment will be at Galatia Cemetery in Norfork, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Rob Anderson, Chris Knight, Kenny Knight, Jordan Atkins, Baron Taylor, and Jonathon Chunn.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
