Helen Marie Griggs, 88, of North Little Rock, passed away on August 24, 2019. She was born to the late William Doss and Eula Eunice Plunk on November 19, 1930 in Kilbourne, Louisiana.
Marie loved going to church at Lakewood Methodist. She was very involved in her Sunday school. Marie was also an active member of Eastern Star and loved playing bridge, quilting, and antiques. Marie's family loved and will miss her cooking.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband, James Julius Griggs; brothers, Robert Plunk and Paul Plunk Forrester; and sister, Faye Plunk Butler.
She is survived by her sons, Jim Griggs (Phyllis) of Fayetteville, Chuck Griggs (Mavis), William Les Griggs (Kim) of Sherwood; daughter, Donna Taylor (Ashley) of Morrilton; many grandchildren; sister, Jean Plunk Gammill of Simonton, Texas.
Visitation will be held at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, Louisiana on Tuesday, August 27 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Private Graveside to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakewood United Methodist, 1922 Topf Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116

Dear Julius & Marie Griggs family.
My aunt Nell Plunk Byrd and I were so sorry to learn today of their passing .
We were just talking about them a couple of weeks ago and wondering how they were doing. Nell gave me the phone number to call them, but no service. I searched for them on my cell phone hoping i could find a way to contact them. While in the searching process, the obituary popped up. This is how I just today learned about the passing of Julius also.
We are so sorry we havent been in touch.
Our prayers are with you all.
I wasn't around them much, only at family reunions, but I found them to be a wonderful part of our family. I know they are missed by the family, and by their many friends and by all who knew them.
May you all be comforted in the days ahead, as you remember all the good times, and the love you all shared for each other.
