Rodney Earl Michaelis, 62 of Conway was called home by God on Monday, August 12, 2019. He was born June 22, 1957 to Alvin Sr. & Dorothy Michaelis of Gillett AR. He was a machinist for 37 years and mentored young and old in this field. Rodney was a Lutheran since birth & attended New Life Church Greenbrier for the past year serving as a greeter.

Rodney was generous to his fellow man & would give you the shirt off his back, the last dollar in his pocket and shared his perspective. His greatest joy in life were his children & grandchildren. He told his children as teenagers ''get up each day & make your mark on the world.'' He was affectionately known as ''Pop'' to his grandchildren and loved playing, hugging & being surrounded by them. They were his treasures in life.

Rodney discovered a deeper love of studying the Bible, attending class, reflection & praise worship in 2018 during his stay at Renewal Ranch. His favorite verse was ''I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. ''
Philippians 4:13.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janna Lynn Williams-Michaelis of Conway, son Jakob Michaelis (Alicia) of Conway, daughter Ashleigh (Daniel) Hawks of Greenbrier, grandchildren Cypress Michaelis, Jazlyn Hawks and Juniper Michaelis. Siblings Dana Michaelis of Little Rock, Penny (Pat) Storms of Siloam Springs, AR, Alvin (Phyllis) Michaelis Jr. of Arlington TX, Mark Michaelis of Gillett AR LeAnn (Jim) Drewry of Memphis TN. Nine nieces & nephews and their spouses and a host of great-nieces/nephews.

Honoring his wishes, cremation by Roller-McNutt. Celebration of Life service will be 1pm, Friday, August 23, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 206 West Rose Ave., Gillett, AR 72055. Interment following at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
