Janice Shepherd Swint, 80, went home to be with the Lord August 12, 2019. She was born in Little Rock AR, March 6, 1939 to the late JT and Helene Shepherd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Chad Irwin and her late husband, Martin Swint. She is survived by her two sisters, Gwen Holton and Jonnafae Hewitt (Allen); two surviving children, Tracy Irwin (Lori) and Karen Adams (Lowell); step-children, Beth Little, Jan Stanley, Nan Swint and Sally Smith; six grandchildren, Kristen (Victor Panaretos), Brooke and Taylor Irwin, David and Katie Adams, Brianna Little; one great-grandson, Lysander Panaretos.

She was a longtime resident of Little Rock and graduated from Little Rock Central High School. Her career spanned 30 years with the Little Rock School District. She was a member of First Christian Church of Little Rock. She fought a ten-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. The family would like to thank all the caregivers along the journey for their loving care. Visitation will be on August 16, 2019 at 9:00AM with funeral services to follow at 10:00AM in the Chapel of Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association https://act.alz.org for research to find a cure.

So sad to hear of Janice’s passing. She & Martin introduced Cecil & me. Cecil died several months ago. I was his caregiver awhile so am having to find my way! May you remember the love & happy times & find comfort in these memories!

Janice was a dear friend, especially when we were in Woodruff Elementary School, and we lived near one another in Little Rock. She will be well remembered by those of us who benefitted from her kindness and service to our high school class. Sympathy to her family. Love, Mary Lee
