James Louis Brinkley, 76, of Judsonia went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 8, 2019. He died peacefully surrounded by his family as a result of Alzheimer's Disease. He was born on September 26, 1942, in Judsonia to the late Jeet Thurman and Eula Christine Brinkley. Mr. Brinkley was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Eula Schmidt and Therma Jean Brinkley; two brothers, Carroll Eugene and Robert Lee Brinkley, and one son, Timothy James Brinkley.

James is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mona Waire Brinkley; one son, Michael Brinkley of Judsonia; one daughter, Misty (Dave) Jameson of Monument, Colorado; two granddaughters, Erica (Willie) Ruiz and Sammi Lucas; two grandsons, David and Matthew Jameson; and five great grandchildren, Lilian Ruiz, Bowen Edwards, Aeralynn Ruiz, Brentleigh Lucas and Blakeleigh Lucas along with his of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

James was a faithful believer and follower of Jesus Christ. He loved reading the Bible, and he could be found in his recliner on any day reading scripture.

He served the United States Army and after his service time began to work for the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department where he retired with 27 years of service. Once he retired, James loved working on his property with his wife, Mona. He loved his tractor, fishing, being with his family and enjoyed his grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Arkansas Hospice for all the help and support provided over the past several months.

Visitation will be held at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 6-8PM. Funeral Service will be on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 2:00PM at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Providence Cemetery.
