Elizabeth Ann Busbea Baker

of North LIttle Rock, AR

February 24, 1977 - August 4, 2019

Elizabeth Ann (Busbea) Baker departed from this world far too early on Sunday, August 4, 2019. She was born on February 24, 1977 to Phillip Michael Busbea and Pamela Ann (Myklebust) Busbea in Little Rock.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, A.W. Busbea, and her maternal grandparents, Charles Robert Myklebust and Shirley Jean (Butler) Myklebust.

She is survived by the love of her life, Brian Keliher Baker, her adoring grandmother Mamie Irene (Winfrey) Busbea, her wonderful parents, her loving step-mother, Patricia Ann (Riggs) Busbea, her fabulous sister (and author of this obituary) Michelle Diane (Busbea) Tyree and her husband Christopher, her sweet step-brother Brian Edward Welch and his wife Susanne, her talented step-sister Latisha Jane (Welch) Daniel and her husband Jason, and her nieces and nephews, which were the apples of her eye, Hailey, Mary Addison, and Hudson Daniel, Jackson Tyree, and Kyle Baker. She also had a slew of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and colleagues.

Elizabeth was lucky to have married into an exceptional family and they accepted her into their loving arms immediately. She graduated from Sylvan Hills High School in 1995 (Go Bears!) and helped to organize her 20 year high school reunion. She enjoyed a long career in banking and had been employed as a Trust Operations Administrator by Simmons Bank for almost 20 years. She was most well known for her love of the color purple and her exuberance and devotion to all things Disney. We envision that her first conversation in heaven was with her family and Walt. She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church and a loyal player in the Faith Ringers. She loved painting with friends and while she was not outdoorsy, she loved a good float trip to a river with friends. Her sudden absence has been felt by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her and hearing her infectious laugh.

Visitation will be at the First United Methodist Church, 6701 JFK Blvd, North Little Rock, on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. followed by the service at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society, as she was a 20 year survivor from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. The link is https://bit.ly/2OZHJ3H. You can also join her Light the Night team for the walk scheduled on October 5, 2019. Her team name is Bound and Determined at https://bit.ly/2yHVL44.

She was such a loving person and had the biggest heart of anyone we knew. She will be greatly missed.

Elizabeth Busbea Baker it is very sad for me to say that we were never extremely close. However I feel as we have know each other a lifetime. Hearing all the Beautiful things your family and friends say about you makes me wish we were closer. Through all the years I have known you, I have never heard one bad or cross word spoken of you! I remember seeing you last at our 20th High School Reunion. I must admit my thoughts now are just as they were then. I was in awe and somewhat shocked at how well the reunion was so perfectly planned, decorated, and done with complete success. The work, time, effort, and completely comfortable you ladies pulled the reunion off. I remember thinking to myself, these ladies all work, have families, and many other things going on in life. How in the world did they make time to do such a fantastic job. I even wrote this about you ladies shortly after. I can and do still hear your laugh and see your smiles. My thoughts and prayers will be with all your many friends and family! Until we meet again. Bartlett Gann.

I grew up with this family (went to school and church for many years) and it saddens me to hear her sweet soul is no longer with us here on Earth. I know she is in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father and I hope that gives everyone some comfort during this time. Elizabeth you have your wings angel!

Sending my love and prayers to Elizabeth's family and friends. Just ran into her about 3 weeks ago and had a nice visit with her. Can't believe she is no longer with us. May family and friends find peace with her sudden departure.

As her co-worker, I never knew what Elizabeth would waltz in to show me next! Her new outfit, of which we loved to compare when we got new things, her latest painting with a Mickey included somewhere, or adding purple to her hair color! I will never forget seeing her get on the elevator at work during the winter, toboggan pulled down over her ears, "turning on the heater" in her coat! Even tho she had just transferred to Little Rock, leaving us here, I loved this girl and am so sad that our Disney painter has left us. Prayers for your friends and loved ones. Will see you again, Sweet Elizabeth. Carol Moore

Elizabeth was a great friend and co-worker. While I worked with Elizabeth at a distance, we had many opportunities to interact. It didn't take long to realize her sweet spirited and genuine personality. My heart is saddened at our loss. She will be missed by many including her Simmons Bank work family.

Elizabeth and I worked together at Delta Trust and Bank. Both of us shared the favorite color of purple and would laugh about it when we both showed up with the same purple blouse - it became a joke for us! We also shared our love of Disney though she was by far the more dedicated Disney lover and we talked often about all things Disney. My most fond memory of her is on her wedding day - I don't know that I've seen anyone beam from ear to ear like she did all day that day - Brian was the love of her life and her whole face glowed whenever she talked about him. We've kept in touch (thanks to Facebook) and it is now hard to say good-bye my friend. Many blessings to your family. RIP my friend.
