Paul Wayne Matlock, 88, of Batesville passed away on Thursday afternoon, July 25, 2019 at home.
He was born March 14, 1931 in Cave City to Noah Winslow Matlock and Lela (Ring) Matlock.
Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War during his time of service, he also worked as a licensed electrician and methods engineer at White Rodgers for 32 years. He believed in helping people and was very family oriented, he was a mentor and hero to many and everyone he met had a special place in their heart for him. He enjoyed traveling, wood work, yard work, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-laws, Debby and Lannie Hensley, Sheila and Glen Kerlin both of Batesville and Vicki and Mike Brumitt of Lugoff, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Nicole Berendzen (Joe) of South Carolina, Brooke Keathley (Mitchell) of Maumelle, Arkansas, Kristi Clark (Jason) of Batesville and Chelsea Havelka (Aron) of Conway, Arkansas; nine great-grandchildren: Logan Clark, Scott Berendzen, Carter Berendzen, Kate Berendzen, Finley Berendzen, Weston Havelka, Adalyn Havelka, Cash Keathley and Ellis Keathley; three sisters, Barbara Matheny of Ravenden, Donna Taylor of Bryant and Kay Winters of Cave City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wilma Maxine (Hobbs) Matlock; brother, Leo Matlock; and sister, Georgia Milligan.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg Johnson, Dwain Johnson, Glen Blevins, Don Tomlinson, Leroy Maupin, Mike Zelasko, Stacy Wright, Aaron Herndon, Derek Brashers, Stu Smith, Brian Luetschwager and Employees of White Rodgers.
Memorial graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville with Jeremy Sullivan officiating.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2019 at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

I'm so sorry to hear of Paul's passing. My condolences go out to Vicki, Sheila, Debby, and their families. He was a true gentleman.
My Momma Emma Keener worked with Mr.Matlock at White Rogers for years. I am so sorry for your family's loss.
Mr Matlock was a very special man and a GREAT neighbor to me! I got to visit with him in Wal-Mart a month ago and I could tell he wasn’t feeling very well. Love and Prayers

I had the pleasure of walking with Mr. Matlock at the aquatic center in the mornings. He will be missed!
