Dorothy Arlene Padfield

of Harrison, AR

July 13, 1930 - June 24, 2019

Dorothy Arlene Padfield, age 88, of Harrison, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord Monday, June 24, 2019. She spent her last moments of life in her home surrounded by family. The daughter of John and Hilda (Strom) Neifert, she was born July 13, 1930, in Yuma, Colorado. She had lived here since 1955 moving from Colorado to Harrison with her husband Bob, whom she was married to for 62 years.

Dorothy was a Christian who attended Bergman Church of Christ. She was a loving housewife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was a wonderful cook, and loved working in the garden with her best friend, Eva Sansing, canning, sewing, and living in the holler. In addition to being a housewife, Dorothy was a pullet grower for Tyson Foods since 1986. She loved to travel, often to the mountains of Colorado where she spent some of her most special times with her family. Some of Dorothy's best memories were also spent camping at the lake with her husband, Bob, who prided himself on being a commercial fisherman. Dorothy was not only a mother to her children; she was also a "best friend" to them throughout her life. She was the type of grandma that never wanted to miss a birthday party or the birth of a grandchild. She never wanted to miss anything. Dorothy's proudest accomplishments were her four children. She taught them to love each other no matter what and she always tried her best to teach them to trust in God. Countless family and friends will miss her laughter, love, and kindness.

Dorothy's parents; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; her husband; and infant son all preceded her in death. Survivors are one son and his wife, Gordon and Angie Padfield of Harrison; three daughters and their spouses, Brenda and Mike Patton of Harrison, Janet and Mike Alquist of Kansas City, Missouri, and Wanda and Rocky Friend of Harrison; and two sisters and their spouses, Betty and John Rau and Helen and Art Martinez all of Denver, Colorado.

Dorothy is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Holly Becker, Scotty Patton, Dr. Heather Hudkins, Eric Friend, Amy Hagler, Amanda Woodworth, Ryan Alquist, Andrea Westfall, and Megan Alquist; 17 great- grandchildren, Hannah, Annie, Dalton, Quiency, Jaci, Dixon, Dylan, Harley, Kylie, Jess, Alex, Brody, Ethan, Noah, Cash, Kinsley, and baby Westfall on the way; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Daxton and Bo; and also special friends that Dorothy counted as family, Roger and Georgie Patton of Harrison, Jodi Boyd and family, and Patricia Fitch of Harrison; and a host of other family.

Visitation was Friday, June, 28, 2019, at Bergman Church of Christ from 1:00-2:00 P.M. with service immediately following at 2:00 P.M. Burial followed at Maplewood Cemetery with Dr. Larry Keener speaking.

Pallbearers were Scotty Patton, Eric Friend, Ryan Alquist, Jason Hagler, Lance Woodworth, Eric Hudkins, James Westfall, Doug Becker, Dalton Mulford, and Quiency Patton.

Honorary pallbearers were John Rau, Wylie Simmons, John Simmons, Matt Simmons, Allen Grisham, Steve Coursey, Josh Hoppis, Randy Kimes, Jim Kimes, Don Persons, and Don Mathis.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Hills, PO Box 1927, Harrison, AR 72602.

Wanda was such a lovely lady. I can still see her eyes roll at some of the funny antics Bob pulled through the years.
My mother and father adored Bob and Wanda.
I can just hear all their laughter in Heaven now. Reliving the Good Ole Times.
My dad had a knack for “helping himself” to some of Wanda and Eva’s good ole cooking and canning. I’m sure the two of them said many times, “Looks like Jim’s been here.”
You ALL are in our thoughts and our prayers right now.
Maybe we can see you soon and give everyone a hug.
Our Love,
Carol and Dennis Copeland
