Thelma G (Caston) Dobbins of Mountain View peacefully passed away and went to be with our Lord on June 3, 2019 while residing at the Waters Nursing Facility at the age of 89 years old. She was born October 27, 1929 at Timbo, Arkansas to Cailey and Vada (Morrison) Caston. She married her sweetheart, Hollis Dobbins, on August 5, 1950, and they resided in Mountain View for 59 years.
Thelma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family, her flowers, and had a special love for her rose bushes. Her favorite pastime was Bible crosswords. She also enjoyed singing in the church choir. She worked as owner and operator of Mountain View Dairy Queen, later known as Marie's Dairy Queen, she also worked at Blanchard Shirt Factory, Good Old Days, Stanley's and Nu-Way Foods Deli's, then after retiring opened, with her husband Hollis, their ''pride and joy'' Pa and Ma's BBQ stand.
She is survived by her 3 children: Marsha Balentine and husband Don of Sherwood, Arkansas; Beth Vaughan and husband Jesse of Cushing, Oklahoma; Steve Dobbins and wife Denise of Mountain View, Arkansas; grandchildren are Angela Balentine, Amanda DePriest and husband Kyler and son Andrew, Timothy Jensen and wife Amanda and children Landon, Keaton, and Dawson, Sean Jensen and wife Summer and children Preston and Jayden Hollie, and Stefani Rushing and husband Craig and children Kenli, Easton, and Averi. Also included are Dalton Butterworth and children Collin and Caleb; nephew Duane Gilbert, nieces, Sherry Nesbitt, Lesa Mitchell, and Cathy Dobbins who was thought of as a daughter; also many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hollis Dobbins, brother Cleo Caston and sisters, Chloe Storey and Lelia Stewart.
Pallbearers are Timothy Jensen, Landon Jensen, Craig Rushing, Dalton Butterworth, Phillip Dobbins, and Gary Williams; honorary pallbearers are Jesse Vaughan, Don Balentine, Jimmy Mitchell, RP Tinkle, JT Stevens, John Stevens, and Brent Stevens. Special thanks to Dr. Dawson Irvin, and the loving staff at the Waters Nursing Facility and the Hospice staff.
Visitation was June 6, 2019 from 1:00-2:00 PM at White Water Missionary Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services followed the visitation beginning at 2:00 PM with Brother Phil Sutton officiating and Brother Glen Swafford reading the obituary. Interment was at Flatwoods Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas.
