I was doing a little research on the VanZandt name when I saw this. Please accept our belated condolences from the Byland family. My Grandmother Mary VanZandt Davis was Sister to Wayne VanZandt . I met Mrs. Louise a few brief times at family reunions when I was much younger. The last few times were at Funerals for my Great Grandmother Josephine S. VanZandt and most recently my Grandmother M.V.Davis who Passed over 10 years ago. My Mom, Anne S. Byland has very fond memories of her uncle Wayne and Mrs. Louise. May Grace and peace be with the family.

I did not know until 2 weeks ago that Mrs. VanZandt passed away. I knew her for 47 years. She and mother ( Wilma Hanner) met working together at Parkview High school in the ‘70s and remained life-long friends. They had a connection and I felt that, too. Mrs. VanZandt was so special to me — always made me feel good and I loved her. She was always the one Christmas card I made sure to mail each year so that she would know I still cared for her. She will hold a special place in my heart forever. She passed away on my birthday — I will miss her, but what a wonderful gift to know she is with the Lord and she and Mother are “visiting” with each other again. To the family I am praying for each of you and just want to say what you already know — we had the Best Mothers the Lord could give. So lucky to have had them chosen just for us. May God Bless and help ease the pain you are going through.
Much Love being sent your way,

Sonya, Todd and family

Sorry to hear of Louise's passing. Please accept our family's condolences. It was nice to be her and Angela's neighbors these 15 years. It was also a bitter sweet pleasure to attend such a beautiful service for her. Her kids and grand kids are amazing. I know she must be very proud.

My memories of Wheezy will always be dear. Almost decades of long discussions weekly just like having a mom again. I have missed calling you Angela and having to go through Weezy “ mom” first on the phone catching up to talk to you. Memories so wonderful. I have been thinking of her lately more and more . I explained to AVZ that although taken too soon, she was preparing everyone slowly to pass the VanZandt your home of strength and wisdom and at this time she had done her job and seen her girls through for all of you to excel forward in your new chapters ahead. You have her joy of life, compassion and wisdom and now a lifetime of each and all of shared memories to use as fuel to achieve and conquer ahead as she gave all your spirit back with a little of hers. I wish all of you my deepest condolences. Angela you have more stories now to put on paper to last a lifetime but if not in heart because she left you at a time for you to move forward anew with joy and happiness in your next chapter. I will always love mom and her talks, her hospitality and her smile. Sorry I could not be there. To see her off but she will be in my mind always. Jessica Dawn Russell

I am so so sorry to hear of Wheezy’s sad passing!!
I loved following you and Wheezy’s journey, which echoed my mum and my own in the UK! Although I never had the pleasure of meeting you both in person, we shared many messages and experiences! So much so, you both seemed like part of my own family! Wheezy was such a sweet character and a proper lady who continued to enjoy a full and rich life and to blossom in your good care? Sending my heart felt condolences to you and your family! May you find the strength to get through this sad time and to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who you should all be so proud of! Sending lots of love, comfort and hugs to you! Xxx

My heart is heavy as we have lost one of the sweetest Southern Ladies I have ever known. The loss is ours, but the gain is in heaven as Weezie was welcomed into the arms of Jesus. That is the confidence we all have in knowing her faith was solid. The hardest part is for those who are left behind. Weezie lived a long and fruitful life! My love and condolences go to Melanie, Angela and Valerie and all of the VanZandt family. May God comfort you all in your time of loss.
