Janie Lavina Boyer Heflin, passed away peacefully at her home in Memphis, Tennessee on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the age of 91. Janie was born July 2, 1927 in Aubrey, Arkansas to parents Henry and Ruby Boyer. She was married to James Heflin for 46 years before God called her home. Janie worked for over 30 years for the United Paint Company. She enjoyed shopping, painting and baking. She loved spending time with her family the most.
Janie is survived by her husband James, her son Ernest D. Poindexter (Darlene) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, two brothers; Henry Boyer (Virginia) of Marianna, Arkansas and John Boyer of Aubrey, Arkansas. She leaves three sisters; Anne Stiles of Hernando, Mississippi, Carrie Eddleman of Aubrey, Arkansas and Doris Jones of Jacksonville, Arkansas. She will also be dearly missed by her step children, 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Janie is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Eileen Whatley and two sisters; Dorothy Spence and Kathleen Waller.

Mrs . Janie Heflin was a really sweet lady I got to get to know her for a short while and helped care for her. She will be greatly miss by me and her family !! We all love her dearly !! R.i.p Janie Heflin
