Paul J. Crymes, 87, of Mountain View died on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at home. He was born on October 19, 1931 in Timbo, Arkansas to George Homer and Ollie Sutterfield Crymes. He graduated from Mountain View High School and went into the Air Force after graduation. He was a Vietnam War veteran and retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service. He then returned to Mountain View with his family and worked for J.K. Southerland Co. and Banquet Co. and also for Modern Builders Construction.
Paul J. loved the Lord, reading his Bible, his family, his church family, gardening, and working in his shop. He was a member and deacon of Foothills Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Faunette Newlin Crymes; mother-in-law, Vivian Fox of Mountain View; 2 sons, Brent Crymes (Alysanne) of Conway, Arkansas and Blaine Crymes (Mechell) of Mountain View; 2 daughters Stephanie Stewart (Eddie) of Mountain View, Teala Haney (Marlin) of Corinth Mississippi; a brother Danny Ray Crymes (Bonnie) of Mountain View and a sister Freda Reece of Marianna, Arkansas; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Dwight Crymes, and a sister Gerean Wallace.
Visitation is Friday, May 10, 2019, from 12:00-2:00 PM at Foothills Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas. Services followed the visitation beginning at 2:00 PM with Brother Tommy Medley and Paul's grandson, Brother Jeff Haney officiating.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Clay Horn, Garrett Horn, Ethan Halsted, Dylan Crymes, Brendan Crymes, and Isaace Haney. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of Foothills Baptist Church. Burial was at Timbo Cemetery in Timbo, Arkansas.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Foothills Baptist Church building fund, 19935 Highway 5 North, Mountain View, AR. 72560 or to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.

I just found out about your loss and I am so sorry. I always loved the way uncle Shorty treated me , and will forever remember the moments we all shared at family reunions and such. My families thoughts go out to yours.

God strengthen the wonderful Crymes family. As a boy I spent lots of time at his house playing football in the front yard. Heaven is a better place because of his arrival there.
