Jerry LeRoy Sanders, 75, of Sherwood, passed away Monday, May 6, 2019. He was born April 8, 1944 to the late Tolbert and Shirley (Lackie) Sanders in Searcy.
Jerry, a true outdoorsman, was featured on AETN in the documentary ''Champion Trees'' for his love of the Dawn Redwood. He was an avid flower and vegetable gardener and landscaper. After high school Jerry worked for Franklin Electric for 22 years, then he worked for Molex Electronic Solutions for 16 years before retiring.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Alta M. ''Sue'' Sanders; son Shawn Sanders (Sara) of North Little Rock; four grandchildren: Ioan, Sadie, Liam, and Rubie Sanders; sister, Doris Powell of McRae; brother, Tommy Sanders (Martha) of Paris, Texas; and extended family and friends.
Cremation arrangements are by Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, AR, 72116. Private memorial service will be at a later date.
