January 23, 1965 - May 4, 2019

Susan Beth Roetzel (Roberson), loving wife, mother, and grandmother, 54, of Searcy passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Susan was born January 23, 1965 in Batesville, Arkansas, daughter of Leo and Nadeen Roberson.

Susan attended various Baptist church's growing up in Pleasant Plains. Together with Bobby, they previously attended the Methodist Church in Albion.

Susan Beth ''Wheels'' Roberson graduated in 1983 from Pleasant Plains High School. After graduation she pursued a nursing degree at Gateway Vocational in Batesville, which she graduated with in February 1985. Susan started working at the White County Health Department in August of 1985. She spent 33 years as a dedicated public health nurse providing home-health care for 18 years, clinic services for 10, and 6 as a float nurse helping serve multiple counties across the state. In the past 5 years she has also served as a medication nurse for a group home bringing health services and joy to its residents.

Susan met Bobby in October of 1984 and proceeded to marry April 19th the following year. When marrying Bobby she gained a daughter, Carrie. Susan and Bobby had their first son, Robert, in 1988 and had their last son, Matthew, in 1992. They enjoyed many activities together. The boys being active in soccer lead Susan to become a board member and registrar for over a decade for the Searcy Soccer Association. As a family Susan enjoyed many vacations and adventures. In the early years camping in tents, traveling across the country in a motorhome with two small children and a moody teenager. In more recent times spoiling her grand girls with trips to Branson and cruising to more islands than can be listed. Susan made a point to enjoy all the moments she had and did her best to push her husband, children and grandchildren to be brave and try new things and they loved her for that. She was a hard worker, a dedicated wife, an amazing mother and her Granna skills were beyond measure.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Bobby Roetzel of Searcy, son and wife Robert and Brittney Roetzel of Searcy, son, Matthew Roetzel of Searcy, step-daughter Carrie Curtis of Conway and two beloved granddaughters, Riley Anne Curtis of Conway and Rylee MaChelle Holliman of Searcy, her brother and wife, Danny and Karen Roberson of Southside, and sister and husband, Kay and Roger Turner of Pleasant Plains and loved nieces and nephews; Kristie Hambrick, Anthony Turner, Brittany Turner, Tamera Shreveport, and Brandon Roberson, as well as many important family and friends.

Susan was a great employee and person.. She was always willing to go the extra mile for our facility and clients. She and Bobby cooked and brought all kinds of things for our Christmas party each year and also when they went on their vacation. She was the nurse every year that she worked here, taking a week off her regular job to help out an be with them. The clients and staff loved her and her for all the work she put in here, always going above and beyond what was required of her. She will be greatly missed by all. Our prayers go out to Bobby and her family.

I was blessed to work with Susan at the White Co/Searcy Health Unit. All conversations involved speaking of her family and all the fun they had. Her smile was contagious and her positive attitude is something we should all aspire to have. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this most difficult of times. May God's love & comfort encompass all of you and may all the wonderful memories made in her short lifetime on this earth sustain you during the difficult times to come.
