Betty Jean (Adams) Coleman of Searcy passed away at home on Sunday, April 21. She was born on December 27, 1927 to Andy Lee Adams, Sr. and Bertha Mae (Bullard) Adams in Grand Glaise near Newport, AR.
Betty Jean was a wife, homemaker and proud mother of five children. She attended the College Church of Christ and was a member of the 1947 graduating class of Newport High School. Betty was an avid gardener, known for her love of God, sense of humor and ready laugh. She generously volunteered with many charitable community organizations including teaching Sunday School for many years, serving as an officer of several PTA organizations, group leader of Cub Scouts and Camp Fire Girls, President of St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary in Highland, Illinois, and Chairman of the Mother's March for the March of Dimes.
Betty Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Vernon Leo Coleman, and her son, Vernon Phillip Coleman.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Coleman of Ft. Smith, Donna McElreath of North Little Rock, Ron and Paula Coleman of Jonesboro, Mary Coleman of Taos, NM, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and other beloved relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, April 26, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services immediately following at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow be at White County Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy.

I have very fond memories of Betty through the years. She was pleasant and upbeat. Condolences to her children and grandchildren.
