Ronnie M. Paul, 85, of the Hilltop Community, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Mt. Vista Rehab in Harrison, Arkansas. Born October 24, 1933, Ronnie was one of nine children born to James and Lula Haynes Paul. He was an avid farmer, family man and trucker. Known to his trucking buddies as ''Arkansas Roadrunner'', he drove many miles with his wife Bonnie and children Roger and Rhonda. He could build a house from bottom to top and could haul hay with guys less than half his age, and they would be begging to take a break.
On December 30, 1954, he married Bonnie L. Sims. They raised three sons, Randy, Rick and Roger and two daughters, Rhonda and Renita. He was known for his giving spirit and over 50 years of being a song leader at the Church of Christ. Along with Joe Mallett, he was a founding member of the Gaither Mountain Church of Christ.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Jim, Ed and Dewey Paul; sister, Ruth Stewart and two children, Rick and Renita Paul.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie (Sims) Paul; sons Randy and Roger (Penny) Paul and daughter Rhonda Paul Watkins, all of Harrison; two brothers: Danny (Linda) Paul of Harrison, and Jackie (Joan) Paul of Oregon; two sisters: Reta Oneto of California and Faye (Dennis) Parker of Missouri; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild, all who lovingly referred to him as ''Poppie''.
Visitation was Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Northside Church of Christ.
Funeral service will be 2:00pm Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Gaither Mountain Church of Christ with Sam Alexander and Charles Lee Mallett officiating, interment followed at Hilltop Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were grandsons: Jon Moore, Brandon Paul, Dusty Paul, Max Paul, Stevie Paul and Roger Paul Jr. (Skeeter)
Honorary pallbearers were Ethan and Evann Dean, Eric Carithers, Robert Paul-Ortiz and Steve Wagoner.
