Elvie Faye Sims, age 98, of Compton, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019, at the home of David and Jill Sims. She was born April 3, 1921, in Erby, Arkansas, the daughter of Berry and Fannie Bell (Reavis) Brisco. She had been a resident of Compton for 72 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
Elvie is survived by her three sons, Marvin Sims of Compton, David Sims and wife Jill of Springfield, Missouri, and Velton Sims of Fort Smith, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Courtney Halsey, Bryant Sims, Amanda Sims and Eddie Sims; two great-grandchildren, Bryson Halsey and Cooper Halsey; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
Funeral service was 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Rick Brisco officiating.
Interment was in Plumlee Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Brandon Halsey, Stacy Burge, Mason Brisco, Bill Roberts, Ronnie Brisco and Redge Madle.
Honorary pallbearers were Andy Chester, Steve Baptista, Lenis Sims and Donald Lively.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Plumlee Cemetery Fund, c/o Norma Carter, HC 33 Box 104A, Compton, AR 72624.

What an awesome testimony for the Lord all of her life. She was always interested in my life and my folk's lives. Her reward is now before her in Heaven. We will see her again someday!
