Eroca Waymen

of Little Rock, AR

November 21, 1947 - March 21, 2019

Eroca Nielsen was the only child of Mary and Victor Nielsen. Born on Nov 21, 1947 in Hamiota, Manitoba, Eroca spent her elementary and high school days in Rapid City, Manitoba. In 1967, Eroca married Lance Waymen and relocated to Vancouver, BC; but later divorced in 1980. Eroca's career included banking, accounting, life insurance, and securities markets. She spent 20 years at the Vancouver Stock Exchange.
In1996, Eroca started dating Wally Mack, her business counterpart in the ''lower 48''. Eroca quit her Vancouver job after 20 years and decided to work overseas with Wally in Romania; then later in St. Kitts. The two were married in 1998 and used Washington, DC as their home base. Eroca's American family include sons, Dave & Dan, daughters-in-law, Janet & Deidra, and eventually 5 grandchildren, Samantha, Delanie, Julianna, Hayden and Garrett.
During their overseas work, they enjoyed diner on the Nile, climbing the pyramids in Egypt, riding a camel in the desert, walking through the ruins of the Acropolis in Greece, and sunbathing in St. Kitts. In her younger years, Eroca had traveled to the Orient for a month.
In 2002, Eroca & Wally moved to Little Rock to be near her new American Family. She enjoyed cheering her grandchildren on in whatever sporting event they were competing in. She admired the discipline that the grandkids showed in keeping good grades while excelling athletically.
Upon her retirement in 2012, Eroca enjoyed working in her garden, helping others whenever possible, and always having a cheerful disposition. Long car trips were made to Central and Western Canada, touring the Rocky Mountains on both sides of the border, examining the glacier fields in Alberta, seeing the Calgary Stampede, traveling through the mountains of Utah, seeing the Grand Canyon and Painted Desert, driving along the West Coast Highway on our way home from Vancouver, BC.
We had many good times together and we will miss our Canadian Rose.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years; Walter Mack, two step-sons; Dave Mack (Janet), Dan Mack (Deidra) and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in Eroca's name to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123 or Arkansas Food Bank, 4301 West 65th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209.

Our deepest sympathies Wally and Family. When my family moved to Rapid City, Mb in 1953 Eroca and I became lifelong friends. I will miss her smile, strength, sense of humour, and infectious laugh. She was an extremely kind person which drew people to her. As her friend I’m so grateful that she found you Wally. Your love and support to her and her Mom over the years was wonderful to see. May the wonderful memories you shared provide peace and comfort in the days ahead. Take care.

Wally & Family: Words are really so inadequate in times like these and yet what else do we have.Thank you for sharing this endearing, deeply caring, charismatic woman who added quality, humour and most of all added such a wonderful broadened spectrum of what we refer to as friendship. I shall treasure her friendship forever.

I will miss Eroca and the many "chats" (as she called them) that we had. She had a wonderful outlook on life, always positive and smiling. A wonderful neighbor and friend.
