Jo Ann (Bryant) Wilkinson, age 72, of Harrison, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Autumn Hill Nursing Home in Berryville, Arkansas. Jo Ann was born October 18, 1946, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Jim Woodrow Bryant and Nola Mae (Edwards/Bryant) Passmore. Along with her husband, Alan Wilkinson; her parents; her step-father, Damon C. Passmore, and her step-mother, Darlene Bryant, Jo Ann was also preceded in death by her two sisters, Peggy Jean Bryant and Betty Lou Bryant; her brothers, Robert Bryant and Robert Earl Passmore; and her nephew, Stuart Jordan Bryant.

Jo Ann had been a member of Gaither Baptist Church of Harrison and had present membership in the First Baptist Church of Salem, Oregon. She was a 1964 graduate of Harrison High School. She moved with her young son, Richard, from her home in Harrison first to Kansas City, Missouri, and eventually to Salem, Oregon where she met and married Alan Wilkinson while working for State Farm Insurance and then in Olympia, Washington. When she retired in l997, they moved back to the Harrison area where she hoped to become a homemaker. Alan's death moved her back into the workforce, where she worked for UPS and then as a legal secretary for an attorney until his death. Her special interests were collecting cookbooks, crocheting, crafts, baking and decorating cakes. She loved dogs and raised them as her special companions.

Jo Ann is survived by her son, Richard Allen Scaggs, of Harrison; her brothers, James D. Bryant and wife Virginia of Harrison and Cloyd James Passmore and wife, Judy of Western Grove; her sister, Janet O'Donnell, of Salem, Oregon; her nieces, Michele Henry and husband Kevin of Monticello, Arkansas, Amber Goodrum and husband Kirk of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, Kara Isham and husband Kris of Bentonville, Arkansas, Becky Passmore of Topeka, Kansas, and Robin Phillips and husband Josh of Harrison; her nephews, Wesley and Michael Shane Passmore of Harrison; plus numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends.


Visitation was Monday, March 18, 2019, at Burlington Baptist Church prior to the service.

Funeral service was 2:00 pm Monday, March 18, 2019, at Burlington Baptist Church, with Dr. James D. Bryant and Rev. Raymond F. Edwards officiating.

Interment was in Burlington Cemetery, Burlington, Arkansas.

Pallbearers: Jordan Henry, Keaton Goodrum, Sawyer Goodrum, Tate Goodrum, Kris Isham, and Danny Edwards

Honorary Pallbearers: Wesley Passmore, Michael Shane Passmore, Kevin Henry, and Kirk Goodrum

We were saddened to read of Jo Ann's death. I (Linda) had known her since going to school at Krooked Kreek with her. Our prayers are with the family.
