Walter Monroe Severs, 94, of Marcella, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Care Manor in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Walter was born on December 31, 1924 in Melrose, Arkansas to the late Charles and Ollie (Patterson) Severs. Walter was a veteran of the United States Navy and served his country in World War II. Walter worked as a farmer for most of his life and his family was awarded the 1961 Stone County Farm Family of the year. Walter also served on the Mountain View School Board and was a long term member and deacon of Marcella Baptist Church and was a current member of New Hope Baptist Church in Yellville, Arkansas. Walter will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.

Walter is survived by two sons, Michael Severs and wife Elaine and Walter C. Severs and wife Cheryl Lee; five grandchildren, Caitlin Severs, Jacob Severs, John Severs, Sheila Davis, and Shane Cousins; seven great-grandchildren, Madison Severs, Elijah Severs, Alex Hammond, Charles Hammond, Ashley Davis, Sydney Davis, and Jaci Cousins, and one great-great grandchild; one aunt Elsie Scott, along with many extended family and friends.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Ollie (Patterson) Severs, his beloved wife Dorothy, one sister, Viola Severs and one brother, Bert Severs.

Visitation for Walter will take place on Monday, March 11, 2019 from 1:00-2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 2:00 PM with Brother Jack Jefferson officiating. Interment is at York Cemetery in Marcella, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Jacob Severs, John Severs, Caitlin Severs, Shane Cousins, Vernon Scott, and Daniel Scott.

Military honors will be provided by the Stone County Honor Guard.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
