Wilma Jean Halfacre passed from this life on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, surrounded by family.
Wilma was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Dena (Webb) Halfacre of Bay, Arkansas and was born April 10, 1938 in Valley View. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Novell, Kathleen and Beatrice Louise; five brothers, Lester, Wayne, Gary, Clinton and Olin Ray.
She is survived by two sisters, Colleen Raglin of Chicago and Ola Bishop of Jonesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Wilma never married or had children, but spent her life helping others. She would drive, take a bus, train or plane to get to a brother or sister who needed her. She was one of a kind, a good sweet sister and devoted aunt. She made friends easily and was highly thought of by all of them. She loved visiting them. Her great love was fishing, her favorite pastime.
She attended nursing school at ASU and spent several years working in nursing homes. She was of the Baptist faith. The family church was Mt. Pisgah Baptist, where they grew together and learned together.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 12, at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home from 5:00pm-7:00pm
Her family would like to express thanks to the staff at Three Rivers Healthcare and thanks to the nurses and staff for their tender care at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice.
