Junior Southern, 74, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 at the VA Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. Junior was born on September 28, 1944 in Marshall, Arkansas to the late McKinley and Bernice (Lee) Southern. Junior was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked for many years as an aircraft mechanic. Junior was of the Baptist faith and will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.

Junior is survived by his loving wife Sandra (Barnes) Southern; two sons, Richard Southern and wife Shannon and Phillip Southern; one brother, Rubin Southern; one sister, Wilma Tilley; his beloved fur baby Annie and his grand dog, Abbey; along with many extended family and friends.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents, McKinley and Bernice (Lee) Southern and two brothers, Willie and Hugh Southern.

A graveside service will be held Friday, March 1, 2019, 2:00 PM at Freeman Cemetery in Round Mountain with Brother Jim Bullard officiating.

Pallbearers are Richard Southern, Phillip Southern, Scott Sefton, Rufus Werb, Dugan Minick, and Roger Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Howard Patrick, Dennis Clardy, Everett Redding, Joe Peceny, Dr. Irvin, and Jerome Branscum.

Military funeral honors provided by United States Navy Funeral Honors Team and Stone County Honor Guard.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.

Junior was a kind man that always seemed to have something to smile about. He welcomed me like family from the first time we met. He will surely be missed. My sincere condolences to Sandy, Richard, Phillip, and the rest of the family.
