Alva Gard Rives Jr., 88 of Oark, AR., passed away Tuesday February 19, 2019 in Clarksville, AR. Alva was born November 11, 1930 in Harrison, AR., to Alva Gard Rives, Sr. & Lena (Pruett) Rives. Junior enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, and telling jokes. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force and worked for the Arkansas highway transportation department as an engineer.
Junior is preceded in death by his parents, two wives Dolores Rives and Arlettea Jean (Jeanie) Rives, one brother Jim Rives.
Junior is survived by two daughters Angie Yates of Hartman, AR., Dee Anne Arbaugh (Doyle) Clarksville, AR.; one son Jimmy Rives of Oark, AR.; grandchildren Kyle & Chelsey Kimbrough; Colby Yates and Fiancee Audra Schluterman; Kaitlin Kimbrough & Fiance' Haden Bartlett; Kayley Yates; Nephews: Ben & Kelly Rives; Cliff & Andra Rives; Great Nieces and Nephews Logan and Brittany Rives, Zach Rives, Blayre Rives, Grant Rives.
Junior's memorial service will be held 10:00A.M. Saturday February 23, 2019 at the Patterson Springs Church.

My Condolences to the family. I only knew Junior for a short time when I worked for him and his wife as their realtor and, once I got to know him, I realized he told it like it was and, I liked him for that. Angie, however, I've known for a lot of years and, I would like for her to know I'm praying for peace and comfort for her and her family. May God Bless you through this!
