Betty Jo Beckwith, 77, of Benton passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019. She was born August 27, 1941 in DeQueen, AR to the late Dave and Dixie Kerr. Betty Jo was retired from the Bauxite School District where she did accounting for the Office of the Superintendent. She was a member of the West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church.
Betty Jo was a model of Christian faith and virtue. She was loved in her family, church, community and workplace.
Betty Jo was preceded in death by husbands, James Henry Russell, and Harold E. Beckwith, her sister, Frances Smith, and her granddaughter, Erica Nicole Russell, brothers-in-law Ronnie Beckwith, Josh Chapman, and Abe Von Hatten, and sister-in-law Nona Faye Garibay.
Survivors include three sons, James David Russell and his wife Mary, Kelly Joe Russell and his wife Shauna, and Shawn D. Beckwith and his wife Tonya; sister, Sue Acklen and husband James of Broken Bow; sisters-in-law Betty Chapman of Benton, Lamona Sue Von Hatten of Alvarado, TX, and Janet Beckwith-Sebourn and Husband Randy of Sheridan; brother-in-law Kenneth Beckwith and wife Lil of Bryant; grandchildren Robert Russell and wife Brooke, Kolbe and Sydnee Russell, and Lilee and Dylan Beckwith, and great grandchildren Phoenix, Ridge, and Georgia Russell.
Funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, February 23, 2019 at West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Melvin Burris and Bro. Kim Hammer officiating. A second service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Wilkerson Funeral Home in DeQueen, AR with Bro. Melvin Burris officiating, and internment service will follow immediately after at Valley Cemetery in Gillham, AR.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home (501)315-0700 6700 Alcoa Rd in Benton.
The family would like to extend it's profound gratitude to Debbie Chapman Elder, niece and honorary daughter, the nurses of Saline Memorial Hospice House, Bro Kim Hammer and Sue Webb for their compassion and support throughout Betty Jo's illness.
We were so sorry to hear of Betty Jo passing. Our Love is with you guys. We will keep you in our prayers.
I worked with Betty Jo for years at Bauxite. She was a great lady she will be missed.

Mrs. Beckwith was a jewel in our church family. Her grace & dignity during even the toughest times was a true inspiration. Her faith in God was always a bright light. We loved her dearly and are very thankful that our lives were touched by the beauty of who she was for the Lord. We will miss her very much.
We are praying for the family as you face the services and days beyond. The blessing of knowing she is with the Lord brings peace, but we also know you miss her here on earth as do so many. May the Lord bless.

She was like my summer mom since I spent so much time growing up with David, Kelly and Shawn. She will be greatly missed.
