I was shocked to discover Mrs. Shaeffer's orbituary online this morning... purely by accident. This very creative and kind lady was my art professor in Computer Graphic Design class during the late 1990s. Such a patient and caring teacher to every single student. Mrs. Dana Shaeffer, Thank You for being an AMAZING professor. Love, Tamitra

We are so sad to hear this news. We took drawing, computer, and African Culture classes from her. What a sweet lady. She and Jay Sawtell came to one of my art shows about 5 years ago. So glad to see her then. She will be missed. Hi Harvey.

Such a shock this morning when I read about Mrs. Dana's passing. Only knowning her for a few short weeks ago when I had joined the art guild and began classes with her. From the moment I met her she made me feel welcome and special introducing me to pastels and loaning hers out to me. She would go out of her way to help you understand the technique she was teaching. I remember last Monday's class I stayed and discussed with her what photo I would start painting the next Monday. As I was leaving she smiled and said I hope I see you on Friday I told her I planned to be there....well circumstances kept me from being there. Then I opened the paper and saw her picture and that she had passed away. Please know our prayers are for her family and friends that God would wrap them in His peace and comfort during this difficult time. To Mrs. Dana I know your painting the rock bluffs and seashores of your heavenly home. May you rest in peace till we meet again. It was a blessing knowing you.

Dana was a gift to the world and was easy to love. She influenced 100s and 100s of students, friends and family artistically and intellectually. She gave graciously to all of those she encountered in her journey in life. Her influence will never be forgotten as stories will be told and repeated around dinner tables, across prairies and into the mountains. All of the tears that will be shed will make a river and that river will flow for generations to come.
All my love goes to Dana, a dearest friend and teacher to me,
