It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Jimmie W. Edwards. Jimmie was born on February 3, 1945 in Denver, Colorado to the late James and Sena (Huffsmith) Edwards. Jimmie passed away on January 19, 2019 at the age of 73. Jimmie was a phenomenal friend, father, and storyteller who truly embodied the boy scout creed he instilled in countless young people.
Jimmie is survived by his children, Cliff and LeAnne Edwards and their boys Brady, age 21, and Tyson, age 17 of Winston-Salem, NC; Kelly Edwards of San Antonio, Texas; and Patrick Edwards of Denver, Colorado; one sister, Delores Shaver of Blytheville, Arkansas; his life partner, Dona Sawyer and her children and grandchildren.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sena (Huffsmith) Edwards.
Papa, you, your stories, and your jokes will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life for Jimmie will take place on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, 6:00 PM at the Ozark Folk Center large auditorium with Bob and Kay Burton officiating.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
I was so sorry to hear of Jimmie’s passing. I went to school with him in Blytheville, and traded with his parents and him for many years, in the furniture store. He was always so nice to everyone and I know he will be greatly missed.
