Joyce Thomas, age 77 passed from her earthly home to her Heavenly home on January 11, 2019. She was born May 5, 1941 to the late George and Virginia Fisher. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a long time member of 4th St. Missionary Baptist Church. She was a homemaker dedicated to her home and family and lived her entire life in Phillips County.
Survivors to cherish her memory are her 6 children, James, Jr (Amy) of Lexa, AR, Melinda (Bud) Weaver of Gautier, MS, Stacey (Jeff) Brown of Jonesboro, AR, George of Helena, AR, Gregory (April) of Poplar Grove, AR, Kelley (Meagan) of West Helena, AR, Lenore Broussard of Bell City, LA. Sister: Rose Mary (Jim) Smith of Rector, Uncle: James Edward Mixon of Justin TX, Brother-in-law: Bert Thomas, Sisters-in-law: Barbara Tucker of West Helena, Alice Langwell of Red Field, Bonnie Swatty of Jonesboro, AR. Also numerous nieces and nephews and special friend Angelia Johnson. Grandchildren: Zakk (Kim) Webster, Devin (Jessica) Thomas, Josh Webster, Caitlin Ragan (Shane Gracey), Kyler Gibbs, Nic Thomas, Tamera Thomas, Jana and Adam Brown, Austin Thomas, Clarissa Beam, Justin Thomas, Shawn Thomas, Cailey Thomas, Dalton Sponsler, Kyle Sponsler and Joseph Smith. 4 great grandchildren: Jenson, Brayden, Ava and Melinda.
Mrs. Joyce was preceded in death by husband James W. Thomas, Sr, parents, mother and father in-law (Jeff and Francis Thomas), Sister: Anna Lee Knuckles and Daughter in-law (Melinda Thomas.)
Funeral services for M. Joyce Thomas will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2019 at Roller Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena, AR. Visitation will be prior of the service at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Central Cemetery. Bro. Bert Thomas will officiate.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Zakk Webster, Devin Thomas, Josh Webster , Kyler Gibbs , Nic Thomas and Shane Gracey. Escorted by the remaining grandchildren.
Services will be directed by Roller Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena (870) 572-2571.
