He then worked for Claridge Products retiring after 20 years where he made many friends. Del was an involved member of the Lead Hill community where he served on the Lead Hill School Board always cheering on the Tigers. He was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church serving as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, RA leader and training union director. Del later became a member of the First Baptist Church of Lead Hill.

Del was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and Gideons. For several years Del was an usher at the Razorback games in Fayetteville, never missing a chance to cheer on the Hogs. He loved spending time with his family, decorating for Christmas, working on his farm and eating fresh fruit. He was always a "snazzy" dresser and ready to be seen. Sending our sympathy and love to the Family. So many times our parents and Grandparents spoke Del and Martha’s name, they were friends and neighbors who worshipped together at Southside Baptist Church. Del was a wonderful man who served his country and was a friend to all, he will be greatly missed.

Martha and family, we are so sorry to hear of Del's sudden passing. Our prayers and thoughts go out to you during this difficult time. May the Lord keep you and help you in the coming days. From reading his obituary, he was a very giving and caring servant of God....may his reward be great.
