James Thomas Hardin, age 71, of Hot Springs, formerly of Benton, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019. He was born May 13, 1947 in Dermott, Arkansas to the late Beb and Melver Collins Hardin.

James was a kind-hearted man who never met a stranger and was an extremely hard and dedicated worker. His memory will be cherished, and his legacy will continue through his family and friends who loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jimmy; niece, Brandy; and nephew, Raymond.

James is survived by his brothers, Gerald and wife Margaret, of Benton, and Jerry, of Hot Springs; his sister, Suzanne and her husband Randy, of Hobbs, New Mexico; sisters-in-law, Arbelle and Linda; three nephews, Eugene, Russell, and Brian; one niece, Teresa; three great nephews, Bradley, Alex, and Chase; five great nieces, Lauren, Taylor, Jennifer, Brittany, and Briann; two great-great nephews, Ethan and Liam; along with many other family members and friends.

A Funeral Service will be Wednesday, January 9, 2019 in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home 306 S. Main St. beginning at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation at 9:30 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Smith- New Rosemont Cemetery in Benton.

My sympathy to the Hardin Family. I grew up with your Family in West Bauxite, called Swamp Poodle back then. I never knew James as a adult. I had the privilege of knowing Jimmy and working together at Reynolds. He was a good man.I also had the opportunity to meet Suzzanne at the Bauxite Reunion in 2017. She is a great Ambassador for the Hardin Family. My prayers willl be for you as you grieve James' death. May God bless each of you in the coming days.
