Steve Phillips, 57, a resident of Paris passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018, at the Mercy Hospital in Paris.
He was born October 29, 1961, in Tucson, Arizona to Dwight James Phillips and Gladys Marie (Horne) Bent. Steve was a graduate of Natrona County High School in Casper, Wyoming where he lived for 23 years before moving to Arkansas in 1995. He was a member of the Crestview Baptist Church near Midway and an avid football fan with the Dallas Cowboys, Arkansas Razorbacks and Paris Eagles being his favorites. Steve was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carl and Voisie Horne and his paternal grandparents, James and Mary Phillips.
Survivors include his mother, Gladys Bent of Paris; his father, Dwight James Phillips of Roswell, New Mexico; a sister, Nancy Stack and husband, Bob of Palm Springs, Florida and a brother, John Mark Phillips and wife, Bobi-Ann of Marysville, Washington.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Paris.
The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Paris with the Rev. Harlin Brewton officiating. Burial will follow in Horn Cemetery in Midway under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Pallbearers will be Jim Ivy, Ted Benegar, Greg Benegar, Richard Zimmer, Billy Waters and Charlie Edmondson. The Logan County Day Center in Booneville and All Care Pharmacy Staff will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Steve was always so sweet to me when I attended Crestviest Baptist Church with him for a while, the perfect gentleman
in everyday; and he took extra steps to make me and many others feel welcome and for that I will never forget him. Gladys you taught him well you did the same......the same love and kindness rang true in your son. May God grant you both peace.

Gladys , I am so sorry and shocked to hear of Steve passing away. He was such a sweet and friendly face. We all loved visiting with him when he came into the pharmacy. We will miss him dearly . I’m so very sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. Even though it’s been more than 15 years since we worked together at Hardee’s, he always said hello to me when he saw me, and remembered my name. Rest In Peace, Steve, and May God comfort his Mom, and his family and friends in their time of need.
