Herschel James Volk, Sr. 84, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord December 16, 2018. He was born on May 10, 1934 in Skene, Mississippi to Oliver and Ella Volk. He moved to Hickory Ridge when he was 10 and graduated from Hickory Ridge High School in 1952. Herschel served in the Air Force, making Staff Sargent after 2 years, serving in the Korean War, he was discharged in 1956. Herschel married Wava Bevills in 1954. He was well known to many people as owner of Volk Service Company for 39 years and attended the Church of God for 50 years.
Herschel was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife; Wava, three children; James Volk, David Volk and Suzie Lawrence (Michael), four grandchildren; Cody Lawrence, Victoria, Valena and Veronika Volk, one brother; Larry Volk (Loretta) and many loving nieces and nephews.

We are praying for you all during this time of sadness. We trust that the peace and love of God will comfort you today and during the days to come. Bro. Volk was a wonderful man and we will truly miss him.

Herschel was a customer of Ed's Supply for many years. Every time he came in he was in a good mood and always had a good sense of humor. It was a pleasure to know him. Rest in peace, Mr. Volk. They definitely don't make 'em like you anymore.
I am so sorry to hear about Daddy Volk. What a wonderful and loving man. He will be dearly missed. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
