Following active duty he continued his military career in the Army Reserve where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. While stationed at Camp Robinson before the war, Walter met the love of his life, Carlice Mathis. After the war he returned to Arkansas and they were married in 1945. We are so sorry for your loss. Prayers of peace and comfort at this sad time.
I met Mr. Dickinson many years when he would come into the Secretary of State's UCC division to do searches. He was such a wonderful man and I have fond memories of visiting with him when he came in. I have often wondered about him and wished that I could let him know what a positive impression he made on me. I'm sure he will be greatly missed.
Carolyn, Marilyn, and Walt (and Terry Collins) — We were so saddened to learn of your father’s passing. What a remarkable man he was!
I’m so sorry to have to miss the service today — I don’t want to expose you to this brutal cold I have. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Please hug your sweet Mama for me, and may you all feel the warmth of God’s arms as he wraps them around you.

May God wrap His loving arms around you in the homegoing of Walter. He was such a fine Christian man. I know you will miss him very much. You are in my prayers.
Marilyn, Carolyn, Walt and families... my deepest sympathies for your loss - but what a wonderful life your Dad had! Praying for peace and comfort.
I would like to express my condolences in the loss of your dear loved one. The bible gives us hope of seeing them again in the promised resurrection to come according to scriptures such as [John 5:28-29] and [Acts 24:15]. We find further hope in scriptures like [Isaiah 25:8] and [Revelations 21:3-5] which says in part that Jehovah God will wipe out every tear from our eyes and death will be no more, because God will swallow up death forever. I hope these scriptures will be of some comfort.
With Deep Sympathy.
Marilyn you are in my thoughs and prayers . Barbara White

Regrets to Walt Jr and the family !!!
This was one extraordinary man. He was a great husband, father, patriot, grandfather, my Sunday school teacher and Christian. These individuals are becoming more and more extinct in our society today. Heaven welcomes a wonderful person and I know my mother and father will enjoy him in heaven as much as they did here on earth. He has made sure that his family will join him also. Mission accomplished.
We were so sorry to hear about Mr. Dickenson
Our thoughts and prayers for your wonderful family. You were blessed with such a wonderful father, husband and grandfather. Our prayers are with you! Randy and Cindy McComb, Sara Cathey and Trip Hale and Chris and Anna Kennedy.
