Freeda Mae Satterwhite

of Conway, AR

July 25, 1931 - December 13, 2018

Freeda Mae Satterwhite, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 13, 2018 at the age of 87. Her passing was peaceful, and she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 25, 1931 in Greenbrier, AR to the late Ezra B. and Chloe (Baker) Spears. Freeda was also preceded in death by brothers Roy, Coy, Gene, Quinton, W.S., and Estes Spears; and a sister, Ernestine Spears.

She retired from SAS shoe factory and then enjoyed being a full-time wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was her pride and joy and she will be remembered for her wonderful meals, her sweet hugs, and her love for God and family. Freeda enjoyed cooking, sewing, caring for her family, and keeping her beloved husband in line. She was a long-time member of Central Baptist Church in Conway.

Left to cherish her memory is her devoted and loving husband of 70 years, Doug Satterwhite; her children Becky (Robert) Hess and Danny (Beverly) Satterwhite; her granddaughter Cathy (Rob) Lively and grandson Jeff (Sharon) Hess; her five cherished great-grandchildren; Tanner, Jason, and Emily Lively, and Devin and Kylie Hess; and her loving sister Banner (Nate) Arnold. Freeda will also be missed by her little fur-buddy, Charlie.

Visitation will be Monday, December 17, 2018 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, AR at 12:00pm. Funeral services will follow immediately at 1:00pm. Interment will be at Thorn Cemetery in Greenbrier. Pastor Don Chandler of Central Baptist Church in Conway will be officiating the ceremonies along with Brother Darrell Spigner.

I had the honor to speak with the granddaughter in the hospital room before she passed, and let me tell you, this lady is SO loved. I felt like I knew the way she spoke of her and how well she loved others. She’s definitely going to be missed by those that know and love her.

Doug, Becky, Danny Paul and family,

I'm deeply saddened to hear of Freeda's passing. I've always thought so very much of her and your whole family. I'll always remember the time I came by one summer day and she "made me" sit down and have lunch with you both. That was some good home cookin'. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all today and always. I will miss you sweet lady.
