of Conway, AR
August 25, 1939 - December 9, 2018
Harold D. Smith, 79 of Conway went to heaven Sunday, December 9, 2018, surrounded by his family and friends. Harold was born August 25, 1939 in North Little Rock, Arkansas to Russell G. and Elsie Duncan Smith. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Pete Beene. Harold retired from Lasley Acoustics in 2005. He was a member of Cadron Ridge Baptist Church in Conway.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years Shirley Matthews Smith, two sons Tim Smith (Susan) of Conway and Matt Smith (Candy Boyd) of Enola. His grandchildren, Whitney, Abby and Tanner Smith, Lyndsey Horton, and Luke Sexton, two great grandchildren Charley and Paisley Mattingly, a brother Rusty Smith (Marvinna) of Enola and one sister Margaret Fern Beene of Enola. Harold will be forever remembered by his beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Harold loved his family deeply. He spent many hours supporting Tim and Matt in sports and with their love of team roping. His grandchildren were the loves of his life and nothing made him more proud than watching them in anything they did. Papaw/Pop/Tickleman will be forever missed. One of Harold's favorite things was to watch Cardinal baseball and the Razorbacks with Shirley and his boys. He loved going to Enola to work with his cattle, especially on Wednesday when he would go to the Enola Store to eat lunch, always a chili dog, with his brother Rusty and his friends.
A memorial service celebrating Harold's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Cadron Ridge Baptist Church, 2980 Old Morrilton Hwy, Conway. Burial will follow at Marcus Hill Cemetery in Enola. Funeral arrangements are through Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway.
