Harry Gaffney Casson, Jr, 95, known most of his life as H.G., of Kensett, AR passed away December 6, 2018. He was born on August 13, 1923 in Jackson Port, AR and grew up in Batesville, AR where he lived and worked most of his life with his late wife, Lillian (Goodwin) Casson. He was born to the late Harry G. Casson and Artie Marie (Massey) Casson along with two younger sisters, Helen I. Maschke and Juanita F Wood both of Florida.
Harry is survived by two daughters, Trena Ballard and Linda Groves, and a son, Dr. William Casson, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren including the late Patrick Reynolds of Batesville.
Harry served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp during WWII, ultimately being assigned to the famous Merrill's Maurauders prior to and during the Mars operation in Burma. He also served during the Korean War. He worked for Arkansas Power & Light, in both Batesville and Searcy, for over 30 years. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Searcy.
Visitation for Mr. Casson will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in the chapel at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Tim Noel officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville.
