Kay Dickens was the best human resources and benefits person the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service ever had--bar none ! She had an almost photographic memory for details on rules, regulations and benefit information. She was so much fun when you visited her office. Rarely was she in a bad mood. When she made a mistake or heard something she didn't like she only knew one bad word. Anyone who knew her can tell you what that was. She spoke in rapid fire like an automatic weapon. You had to listen well to get it all the first time. But she worked hard to help every employee to get every benefit, however small, that they deserved. She had a large heart for anyone who knew her. Her wonderful sense of humor and dedicated service to others will be missed. She and her family are in our prayers. May God rest her soul in heaven and give her something to do. She hated to just sit around.

What a lady, Kay was the best! I join the many others who have shared how she was special and that she blessed their lives. You would be hard pressed to find a more dedicated, faithful and genuinely caring person. I count it an honor to have known her and feel certain she has entered into her heavenly reward as 'A good and faithful servant'.

All the wonderful statements that have been said by others regarding Kay Dickens are so true. She was a very giving and loving person and absolutely dedicated to helping others. It was an extreme honor to be one of her friends and almost a neighbor. My entire family loved Kay. Conway has lost a great citizen but all of us that knew her are a better person because of her. May our Heavenly Father comfort her loving family and friends.

Kay was a special person to everyone she encountered. She was brilliant and caring in every aspect of her being. We were the beneficiaries of both of those wonderful traits. We missed her greatly when she left the Cooperative Extension Service, but that did not keep her "Extended Family" from coming to her for help. And she did! She was a wonderful treasure and her memory and laughter will continue with us. Thank you Kay!

I met Kay when I started to work with UA COOP Extension in 1977 and visited with her many times over the years I worked. She was very helpful to me and others and we all have fond memories of her. One of the nicest people that worked in this organization and our prayers are for her family during this time.

Kay was an amazing Christian, she led by example. She lived every day to serve the Lord. She was a very kind and giving person, to everyone she met.
She not only was a lifelong member of First Church of the Nazarene, but over the years she has been a Sunday School teacher, a door greeter and served on her church board.
During Christmas, she delivered Poinsettias to all the elderly and home bound members of the church. She never left a home without a prayer and asking if she could do anything for you.
Although I have a number of memories of Kay, one particular comes to mind. In 2008, my Mother had cancer surgery. We were at the hospital all day, and so was Kay. She came and stayed and prayed. When Mother came home, Kay came by the house every week. She called and prayed. She always there for us. I will never forget all of the kind things that she did for my family. and I will never look at a Poinsettia without thinking of her.

I am so sad to hear of Kay's passing but know she is in a better place. I attribute any financial comfort I have in retirement to Kay and her expert counseling and desire to assist her co-workers at CES. The good she has done will continue for many years.

Our thoughts and prayers for Kay’s family. Our family has been intertwined with Kay’s life for years. Kay’s Dad and my Grandpa were roommates at nursing home. Kay and my Mom , Beverly McNew, worked together and commuted to LR from Conway for years. Kay was invaluable in her position at the Extension Service and I respected her immensely as one of those Agents whom she advised.
Kay was a treasure and know you have many more wonderful memories of her as do we.
God bless,
Terrie Treadway.

Ms Kay was a very special lady to our family. She had the biggest smile and was always to happy to see us all. She would zoom in on Sunday afternoons when we had family dinner at my in-law’s and say her hellos then off she went. She and my In laws traveled to great places together. She is fondly remembered and deeply missed. Love the Shapter Family, Pete, Bettye, Blake, Delia, Axel, Matt, Amber, Loral and Mallea

Ralph and I are sorry to hear about Kay's death. She was a beautiful Christian lady who loved the Lord and His children. Kay warmly greeted us the first time we visited First Church of the Nazarene. It was her smile and sparkle that let Ralph and I know we had come to our new church home in Conway. She always went about before the morning service talking to as many as she could and making them feel welcome there. We have missed her being there with us. Now she is with Jesus all the time and I know this makes her very happy. God bless her family.

My deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time. I hope the words at Rev.21:4 bring you comfort. It says: "God will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Sweet Family,
Kay is finally where she longed to be, fishing with The Fisher of Men! She was one of the most energetic "get er done" people we have ever known. She used all her energy in winning souls. she took care of young and old and older alike. She took anyone and everyone wherever they wanted to go, and probably a few places they didn't. She taught my kids and probably your kids. She was a delight to be around, laughing constantly. One of her most famous laughs was always if you fell. She was there to pick you up, but she sure did enjoy a good fall, even if she was the one falling!
Loved everything about her! Jesus did too! She was faithful in every area of her life. She was an absolute treasure and will be missed, but I can almost hear that laughter! Love you Kay!
