Jimmy, I hope you knew how much I loved you. I regret we did not get to spend more time together growing up. When you came to Memphis to visit Mother and me I was so happy but when you had to go back to Tyronza I was very sad. You were a kind sweet person and I have always been proud you are my brother. I love and miss you.

My deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time. I hope the words at John 5:28,29 bring you comfort. It says: “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.”

Jimmy it is with a very heavy and sad heart I write these words of love to you. We had some good times and experiences during our lifetime. You are such a solid person, knowing what you wanted and being very positive. You and I are of a dying breed and the last of the generation directly from granddad. I know you and Bobby are enjoying each other again and rejoycing in heaven with granddad and our parents. I will miss you and you will always be in my heart and thoughts. R I P my dear cousin.

Jimmy, I'm gonna miss seeing that PT cruiser pulling in at Crossroads. I always enjoyed our brief yet meaningful interactions. I always took you as a "straight to the point" type of man, who had a kind heart,a soft spot for his family.. And a love for tea!! May you rejoice in heaven, I'll see you one day! Until then... Your server and friend. -Coree

Dear Granddaddy,

It’s hard to imagine my world without you in it. You always had a soft voice and a smile for me. One of my favorite memories of you is from when I was a little girl and you would come to visit me, you would always have a shiny half dollar to give to me. That half dollars always brought me so much joy. It was such a special gift to me. You never failed to have one in your pocket until one day you changed it to dollar coins. That was amazing to me. I still have a few of them. I will cherish them because they were from you. I will miss your warm smile, soft voice and your love of going out to eat for ribs with us. I love you Granddaddy. I miss you so much.

Love , Dawn

Jimmy, you will be missed tremendously. As I look at your picture, my heart breaks that I will not be able to see your smile in person again. Although, I do take comfort knowing that you are smiling down on all of us in Heaven. You are at peace and I take solace in that. Our conversations will be cherished in my heart. I am so thankful that I was given the opportunity to be a member of your family and that you took the time to love me as one of them. You contributed to this life a charismatic son, a loving-kind daughter, seven beautiful and smart granddaughters, and a beautiful and smart great-granddaughter and two precious great-grandsons. You leave a legacy of wonderful people. Your presence will be missed but never forgotten. We will all hold you in our hearts. Watch over us all. We will see you again.

Oh Grandad, you left quite the legacy behind. None of us would be here today without you.
I am going to miss your random visits, pulling up in your bronco with a bucket of change, dispersing it to all of us girls.. you and Nana always did that. “Always got to have a little change in your change pocket, just in case” ;)
I know you and Boy are up there having a good ole time. Watch over Dad and Aunt Debbie. Losing a parent is something I never want to experience but I know you will stay in their hearts forever, as well as ours.
I love you, I love you, I love you. 💕

Dear Grandad,
I miss you. I know that even when Savana and me went months without seeing you, as soon as we saw you there was always a smile on your face. You were always so kind and generous to us. I remember everytime you pulled up to the house in your little truck and even when you had the PT Cruiser you always gave us $20. You would tell us to go buy ourselves something nice. You always made me laugh and smile. You made everyone around you laugh. When I worked at Crossroads Café, all the girls I worked with knew who you were when you came in and exactly what you wanted to eat. You made an impression on everyone you met. If it wasn’t for you, I would’ve never really had a grandfather figure in my life. If it wasn’t for you, there wouldn’t be so many beautiful women in our family or even me. I love you always. I know that you and Boy are having a great time in Heaven.

To my Grandfather,
You were my only real grandad I ever knew my whole life. Although some of our conversations were short and sweet I cherished them dearly. He had a way with words that could make you smile. He gave me my first gun and quote on quote said “now this isn’t a toy”. I told him I just wanted to borrow it to practice and he insisted I keep it, explaining he would never use it anyway. Jimmy was a simple man. He didn’t need materialistic things to be happy. Just a visit and call now and then from loved ones gave him joy. I find so much peace knowing he is without pain and with God, Forever in the hearts of all his children and grandchildren. I’ll never forget the lessons he taught me. What a beautiful legacy this man left behind.

GrandDad, I hate that you are gone. As I was reflecting, I realized that I got my love of animals from you. I think we both have a love for animals more than humans. Your dogs were always your babies.

It seems like yesterday that Dawn and I were riding in your truck and you were taking us to watch the new Disney movie that came out. I can remember bouncing around in the back of the truck on that rumble seat excited to see The Little Mermaid. Now that I am all grown up, I will keep the tradition going by taking my boys. Thank you for all of the fun times.

I love you!! Enjoy your restored body free of pain.
