February 15, 1934 - November 18, 2018

Charles Wayne Curry was born in Warren, Arkansas on February 15, 1934, to Hazel J. and Corbin A. Curry. Wayne left this earthly life for his heavenly home on November 18, 2018. He graduated from Little Rock Central High School and attended Ouachita Baptist University, where he was a member of Rho Sigma Social Club. He served his country in the United States Army and retired from the United States Postal Service.

Wayne Married Janelle Chitwood in 1956. They enjoyed 62 wonderful years together and their greatest joy was raising two daughters and spending time with their family, including their grandchildren. He had a lifelong love of horses, music, and enjoyed boating, but the thing he cherished most was being with his family. He will be eternally remembered for his encouraging humility and selfless acts of kindness. For more than 35 years, every Sunday after church the families gathered together at D-Daddy's dinner table for good food, fun, and warm loving fellowship. Wayne was a member of Baring Cross Baptist Church where he served as general secretary of Sunday School, performed various other duties at church, and helped people in his community throughout his life.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Corbin, a grandson, Stephen J. Duncan, two loving aunts, Ruth J. Kersey, Aline Jarratt, and brother-in-law Bob Beatty. He leaves to cherish his memory his 106-year-old mother, Hazel of Little Rock; his wife Janelle of North Little Rock; daughters Cheryl Duncan and husband, Phillip of Little Rock; Leslie Briley and husband, Daniel of Siloam Springs; five grandchildren, to whom he was D-Daddy: Suzanne Bartolomei and husband, Jim; Ashley Duncan and Melissa Duncan of Little Rock; Shelby Briley of Fort Smith; Seth Briley of Siloam Springs; and two great grandchildren, Grace and Henry Bartolomei of Little Rock. Wayne is also survived by two brothers, Larry Curry and Jamye of Little Rock; Richard Curry and wife, Mary of Louisville, KY; and one sister Patsy Beatty of North Little Rock and a large extended family of cousins, Nieces, and nephews.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Baring Cross Baptist Church, 7541 Warden Road, Sherwood, AR 72120. Burial to follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
