Jerry Rodgers, 64, of Mountain View, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at his home in Mountain View, Arkansas. Jerry was born on December 23, 1953, in Andrews, Texas, to the late O.D. and Ellen (Blackwell) Rodgers. He earned his technical degree in welding and worked as a welder for most of his life. Jerry was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 42 years Melisha (Rolen) Rodgers; two daughters, Leann Turbeville and husband Mark, and Lori Beth Rodgers; one brother, Bob Rodgers and wife Gail; two sisters, Leatha Fletcher and husband Larry, and Melba Swafford and husband Roger; one grandchild, Tyler Turbeville; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, O.D. and Ellen (Blackwell) Rodgers.
Visitation for Jerry will be Friday, November 16, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services are Saturday, November 17, 2018, 2:00 PM at Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church with Brothers Randy Long, Matt Long, and Alan Rolen officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at Sugar Hill Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Jerry's beloved nephews. Honorary pallbearers are Gideon's International Mountain View Camp.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are made to Gideon's International, PO Box 1134, Mountain View, Arkansas, or Sugar Hill Cemetery, 505 Rodgers Farm Road, Mountain View, Arkansas 72560.
