Phillip S. Johnston, age 71, of Lexa, Arkansas passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at his home. Mr. Johnston was born November 17, 1946 in Hernando County, Florida to the late Johnnie and Lorena Johnston. For most of his working life, Mr. Johnston was a welder and did maintenance work for BPS.
He is survived by two daughters, Phillis Nunemaker (Danny) of Newark and Molly Johnston of Lexa; granddaughter, Janee James; great-grandson, Eli James; three brothers, James Johnston, Sr. (Earnestine) of Batesville, Johnny Johnston (Georgia) of Lexa and Dencil Johnston, Sr. (Elizabeth) of Melbourne; sister-in-law, GenniBuie (Ricky) of Marvell; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mr. Johnston was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jane Johnston; two sons, Michael Stephen Johnston and Johnnie William Johnston; and one brother, Larry Johnston.
A funeral service for Phillip Johnston will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 9, 2018 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Brother Adam Rowland will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of the Delta.

I would like to extend my condolences and prayers for all of Phil's family and friends, alike.
He was considered family next door to my dad, Jay Cheek and mother, Jodie Cheek, as well as all of our family that knew this good man for so many years.
