of Maumelle, AR
February 23, 1938 - November 2, 2018
Terry was born to Pete and Maxine Hitchcock in Woodward, Oklahoma on February 23, 1938.
He graduated from Enid High School in 1956 and from Oklahoma State University in 1961. After completing ROTC at OSU he was commissioned into the U.S. Army as 2nd Lieutenant and was stationed in Crailsheim, Germany, with the 37th MTB in the 4th Armored Division. Upon returning to the states, he was stationed at Ft. Knox, KY, where he was the Company Commander of the 2nd Training Brigade of the 4th Armored Division.
In 1960, he married the love of his life, Betty Stratton, also from Enid, OK. They were married 58 years. They have 2 children, Terry Dale Hitchcock (Mindy) of Chowchilla, CA and Karen Warren (Dave) of Austin, TX. He has 6 grandchildren: Jonathan Amis (Amanda), Brittany Enos (Garrett), Courtney Rosbach (Matt), Brandon Hitchcock, (Alexa), Kalyn Pate, Kody Pate, 4 great grandchildren, brother-in-law Jerry Stratton (Patsy) and a number of nieces and nephews.
Terry served many years as a deacon at Geyer Springs Church of Christ. For the past 26 years he has been an active member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ and very much loved his church family.
He retired in September, 2005, after 39 years in the insurance claims business with CIGNA and Crockett Adjustment.
His passions were bass fishing, deer hunting, playing guitar and saxophone and telling lengthy stories. He loved his little shih tzu, Cassie, who died the same day.
A legacy of living by faith, a devotion to his wife and family and a spirit of gratitude for all the Lord has given him will be remembered by all. He will be missed.
So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at Revelation 21:3,4 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away".
Mrs. Betty,
We express our sympathy and ask for God's blessings and comfort.
Love,
Liza, Chris, Fenley, Henry, George, & Jon Wright
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Hitchcock family.

I will miss our Wednesday morning talks and I’m sad that we never got to do our harmonica lessons. You were a great friend when I need it and especially these last few months after losing my Daddy. Much love to your family. Terri with an “I”
Terry was a great guy. He was truly a great person. I enjoyed having him in my Coumadin Clinic. I know your family is feeling a great loss. We'll pray that God eases their grief.
A finer Christian man could not be found. Never met a stranger without a smile and handshake; always willing to help. Served his country in that same spirit. Our prayers for Betty and all the family.
Betty - I have fond memories of the entire Hitchcock family. We used to go over there every Monday night to watch "I Love Lucy" since we didn't have a TV. Even though Terry is older than I am, I still remember him from our church days and the days we shared with his family. Jerry has been good to keep us posted on you and Terry over the past few years. I know you will truly miss him but knowing he is now with our loving heavenly father I'm sure is so comforted. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
