August 20, 1944 - October 31, 2018
Margaret Shirlene Ward, 74, of Clinton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 31, 2018. She was born August 20, 1944 in Clinton, Arkansas to Auzzie and Effie (Bonds) Harness.
Margaret Shirlene was married to her earthly love of her life Reverend Bobby Ward for 56 years. She graduated from Clinton Schools in 1962. Shirlene was a deep loving, caring, kind and giving lady. At very young age of six she was babysitting her "baby" or "her Larry" but we know him as Larry Nixon pro fisherman. Shirlene married the love of her life Reverend Bobby Ward December 31, 1962. They had three boys; Toby, Ricky and Chris. She was a devoted pastor's wife, teacher and coach, among other ventures in life. She played the piano, sang in the choir and corralled three rowdy boys in church. Once the boys were old enough to fin for themselves Margaret Shirlene started working at the US Postal Service in Shirley, Arkansas from which she retired. She loved telling her stories from helping a lady in labor, to many miles of rough, rocky and sometimes flooded roads of Stone and Van Buren counties. She had a way of loving her family and extended family. You didn't have to be blood related to be family all she did was love. She had a love of school and of reading that she passed on to others throughout her life. In school she kept her grades up and was a member of the yearbook staff and other school functions. She made several quilts for her loved ones that they still cherish. She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Fox, Arkansas. She will be missed by all who knew her. What a glorious day it was when she went home to her Lord, husband and other family and friends in Heaven.
She is preceded in death by her husband Reverend Bobby Ward, both parents, one sister, Carolyn Parker and one niece, Racheal Parker.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses; Toby and Robin Ward of Shirley, Rick and Melissa Ward of Fairfield Bay, and Chris Ward of Bee Branch, five grandchildren; Cassie Lopez, Devon (Drew) Hensley, and Cory (Johnnielynn) Ward, Lane, and Chandler Ward, and four great grandchildren; Kami, Emmylou, Raynee Hensley and Milo Lopez, one sister, Faye Nixon, two brothers; Wayne Harness and Lindsey Harness.

Dear Ward Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Miss Shirlene's passing. Every time I was in her presence she was kind and had a smile that could light up a room. Hebrews 11:1 says " Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. " Her faith has carried her through and great is her reward. My God grant you comfort and peace during this difficult time and days to come.
