George A. Lachowsky, 83, of Conway passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. He was born in Conway on March 18, 1935 to the late Alfred H. Lachowsky, Sr. and Eugenia George Lachowsky. He also was preceded in death by his brother, Alfred H. Lachowsky, and sister, Helen Ruth Lachowsky.
George graduated from A.S.T.C with a Bachelor's in Industrial Education. He worked for many years as the Faulkner County Surveyor and then became a land developer. He was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
George was known for being a jokester and a teller of tall tales, especially tales about U.F.O.s and the creatures and fish he saw in Lake Conway. He loved the outdoors and fishing. He had an incredible garden that could out do everyone else's garden. He enjoyed Friday night dancing at the senior citizen's center and being on their bean bag baseball team.
He is survived by two sisters, Mary Rose Kroupa (Dick) of Rogers, Arkansas and Theresa Hoyt (Robert) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Pat, Kathy, Ruby, Ronnie, Nancy and the Kindred Hospice Staff for the care they provided.
A rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Conway with visitation to follow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 at the church. The celebrant is Father Warren Harvey. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum.
