Lena Sue Rennie, age 79, of Sherwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 10, 2018.
She was born to the late Roy and Zora Johnson on November 23, 1938 in Lonoke. She is preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
Lena graduated from Carlisle Public School, class of 1956 then went to Draughn School of Business. Following a long banking career which started at Worthen Bank and Trust as a teller, she retired in 1999 from Bank of America where she held the title of State Branch Operations Manager. Shortly after starting her career with Worthen, Lena wed the love of her life, David Rennie on December 16, 1961 and were married for 56 years. Together, they raised two loving sons; Geoffrey "Geoff" and Christopher "Chris."
She, David and their two sons joined Park Hill Presbyterian Church in 1973 where Lena was very active serving in many capacities including Sunday School teacher, on the Session, multiple committees, bell choir and was church treasurer for 30 years. She was also active in many civic organizations.
Lena was a loving wife, mom, grandmother and aunt who was a woman of virtue and integrity, a humble and beautiful soul who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Lena is survived by her husband, David T. Rennie; her two sons, Geoffrey Rennie of Sherwood and Christopher (Shanean) Rennie of Russellville; her pride and joy, ''Sweet Baby Grandson,'' Hunter Rennie; one sister, Caralee (Neil) Pfeiffer of Mabelvale and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 9:30 A.M., Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Park Hill Presbyterian Church, 3520 John F. Kennedy Blvd., NLR. Burial to follow the service at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, NLR. Visitation will be from 6:30-7:30 P.M., Tuesday, May 15th at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. The world lost a fine lady and gentle soul with Sue. I remember fondly growing up with her as one of my neighborhood Moms. She will be missed by any and all who knew her. I’m sorry for the loss your family is fealing. My heart is heavy for you and all of you are in my thoughts and prayers.
