Jesse McDermott, 85, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away August 26, 2017.

He was born on May 31, 1932 to Joseph and Myrtle McDermott.

Jesse had over 50 years of farming and home building as a career, and was a member of the Lyons Club, Rotary Club, and the Board of Riceland Foods.

He was also the president of Mallard Pond Hunting Club where he hunted and fished, and proud member of the Twin Lakes Gun Club.

Jesse enjoyed reading and bird watching, wildlife, watching classic Westerns, Green Bay Packers, and listening to country music.

He loved to pilot, travel the world, and visited many countries.

He was very proud of his Master Gardener Award, he also was presented with the Cross County Farm Family of the Year and District Farm Family of the Year.

Jesse McDermott is preceded in death by his sister Vivian Crouch and his parents Joseph and Myrtle McDermott.

He leaves behind the love of his life Opal Bradford McDermott, son; Jesse ''Eddy'' McDermott II of Memphis, Tennessee, daughters; Jan Voyles (Jerry) of Wynne, Arkansas, Debbie Young (Phil) of Mountain Home, Arkansas, brother; Cecil McDermott (Nelda), grandchildren; Megan Green (Clay), Joseph McDermott, Anna McDermott, Jamey Hobbs (Shannon), Ginger Thomann (Jeremy), Phillip Young (Melanie), Bradford Young (Brooke), Harrison Young, great-grandchildren; McCoy Green, Carson Hobbs, Ansleigh Hobbs, Audrey Young, Christian Young, Mitchum Young, Lexton Young, Abbott Young, and brother-in-law Billy Crouch.

Celebration of Jesse McDermott's life and the Joy of his Homecoming will be scheduled Wednesday, August 30th at 3:00 with a visitation at 2:00 and Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, Arkansas.

Opal a few months back. Jesse was a good client of mine and a personal friend. Opal is a precious lady. Keep the FAITH Opal.
